Special Requirements:

Pre-1800 Literature Requirement: Fulfill this requirement with a selection of specified courses that cover early literary history and theory.

Diverse Perspectives Requirement: Choose from a curated list of literature courses that explore global cultures, ethnicities, and diverse viewpoints.
Majors:
As part of the curriculum, majors are required to complete twelve credit hours across at least two different genres fiction, poetry, non-fiction. Admission into these specialized workshops is by consent of the instructor.
AXLE Credit Eligibility:
Our department proudly offers courses that meet both AXLE requirements for writing skills and liberal arts experiences across categories such as ities Creative Arts HCA, Perspectives P, History and Culture of the U.S. US, International Cultures INT, and Social Behavioral Sciences SBS.
