Reviving Ancient Wisdom: A Family's Journey in Educating the Next Generation

Hello, my name is Anya Leonard. I’m the founder and director of Classical Wisdom, a site dedicated to bringing ancient wisdom into modern minds and preserving its legacy for future generations. I’ve spent the past decade working tirelessly to promote and preserve the rich tapestry of ancient history, philosophy, mythology, and literature.

In addition to my professional pursuits, I'm also a wife and proud mother of a seven-year-old girl who shares a deep passion for learning about the ancient world - from its languages and stories of great thinkers and influential leaders to the captivating myths that have captivated us for centuries. We often daydreamed about homeschooling our daughter in this rich educational framework.

However, like many parents balancing work commitments and family responsibilities, my husband Joel and I were faced with practical challenges such as the impact on her social life or concerns over finding appropriate tutors who could engage her in ancient wisdom lessons while we mntned our careers. The dream of incorporating a classical-based curriculum into Frida’s education remned just that - a dream.

The turning point came when we envisioned not only promoting classics online but living its principles ourselves by actually doing it for our daughter. After all, if I truly care about the preservation and promotion of ancient wisdom, wouldn't it be necessary to spark an interest in her generation?

And so, Classical Wisdom Kids was born - a family project that brings together my expertise, Joel’s support, and Frida’s enthusiastic contributions, including logo design and insightful articles. We’ve decided to take this initiative forward by creating engaging content tlored for children’s learning styles.

Our plan is to introduce weekly discussions centered around ideas or concepts from the ancient world, complemented with captivating stories, rotated through various disciplines like philosophy, history, literature, math, science, theater, poetry, and music and art. We m to make these lessons accessible not just in text but through visuals, videos of ancient sites, interviews with scholars and experts who can provide unique insights.

With the growing success of Classical Wisdom, we now have access to world-renowned academics from various fields who are willing to share their knowledge freely, providing us with a robust network that allows us to create engaging content for children.

We want every child’s experience with ancient wisdom to be enriching and affordable. We offer our services at an introductory price of $5month, which is essentially the cost of one cafe latte per month. This ensures accessibility without barriers imposed by financial constrnts. If you need additional support or find it within your means to contribute more, we also have a Founder's Membership option that allows you to gift memberships.
